StakePoint Platform Data Report, August 2026: What Nine Months of Solana Locks and Staking Show

Platform data from StakePoint as of August 2026: locks created, tokens supported, total value locked, active stakers and what the numbers show about how Solana projects actually use locking and staking.

Why Publish This

Most claims about Solana token locking are assertions. Locking builds trust, unlocked liquidity is dangerous, longer is better. All plausible, none measured.

StakePoint has been live on Solana mainnet since December 2025 and every lock and staking pool created on it is on-chain and public. This report sets out what the platform data shows as of August 2026 and what it suggests about how Solana projects actually behave, as opposed to how guides say they should.

Lock Tokens on StakePoint

Platform Snapshot, August 2026

  • 586 unique locks created
  • 375 tokens supported across the platform
  • $9.88M total value locked
  • 381 active stakers across live staking pools
  • 480 unique stakes
  • 122% average APR across live pools
  • Live on Solana mainnet since December 2025
  • Grade A smart contract audit from auditr.xyz, zero high severity findings across all 16 program instructions
  • Tracked on DeFiLlama and DappRadar

Every figure here is derived from on-chain activity, and every individual lock behind it is publicly verifiable at stakepoint.app/locks without a login or wallet connection.

What the Numbers Show

Locking is no longer a launch day formality

The spread of 586 locks across 375 tokens means the average project locks more than once. That pattern is consistent with tranching rather than single cliff locking: teams splitting allocations across multiple unlock dates instead of committing everything to one.

That is a meaningful behavioural shift. A single lock is a launch checkbox. Multiple locks with staggered dates is supply management.

Token-2022 is now a requirement, not an edge case

A significant and growing share of tokens arriving on the platform use the Token-2022 standard, most commonly for transfer taxes. Lockers built only for SPL cannot handle these at all, which means the standard a project picks at creation now constrains which infrastructure it can use for the rest of its life.

Projects increasingly pick the token standard first and discover the constraint second.

LP locking and token locking are different decisions

Projects that lock liquidity do not automatically lock team allocations, and the reverse is also true. They are treated as separate commitments made at different times, usually with liquidity locked first, around launch, and team allocations locked later, often in response to community pressure or ahead of a listing conversation.

The projects that do both early are a minority, and they are noticeably the ones with longer average durations.

Staking and locking reinforce each other

Pools and locks are used by overlapping sets of projects. A lock removes supply from the market for a fixed period. A staking pool gives the remaining circulating supply a reason to sit still. Projects running both are managing float from two directions rather than one.

What Is Not in the Data

Worth being explicit, because platform reports usually are not.

This is one platform's view. It covers projects that chose to lock, which is a self selecting group, and it says nothing about the far larger population of Solana tokens that never lock anything. Nothing here should be read as ecosystem wide.

It also measures behaviour, not outcomes. A project locking for 24 months is making a commitment, not proving a result. Anyone claiming a precise causal link between a lock and a price outcome is selling something.

What This Means for a Project Launching Now

Three practical conclusions.

Tranche rather than cliff. The observed pattern is multiple locks per project. Splitting an allocation across staggered dates keeps each release small enough for the market to absorb and produces a schedule a holder can read.

Decide your token standard with your infrastructure in mind. If you are launching on Token-2022 for transfer taxes, confirm your locker and staking platform support it natively before you mint, not after.

Treat liquidity and team tokens as separate commitments. Doing both early is uncommon enough that doing it puts you in a small and visible minority.

Methodology

Figures reflect StakePoint platform activity as of August 2026, derived from on-chain program state. Lock counts are unique locks created. Token counts are distinct mints locked or staked. Total value locked is calculated from locked balances at prevailing market prices and moves with them.

Every underlying lock is independently verifiable. Search any token address or wallet address at stakepoint.app/locks, or inspect the vault directly on Solana Explorer.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many locks has StakePoint secured?

586 unique locks across 375 tokens as of August 2026, with $9.88M total value locked.

Is StakePoint audited?

Yes. The Anchor smart contract holds a Grade A audit from auditr.xyz with zero high severity findings across all 16 program instructions. The upgrade authority is secured by a Squads 3 of 4 multisig with hardware wallet signers.

Can anyone verify these numbers?

Yes. Every lock is public at stakepoint.app/locks with no login required, and every vault is inspectable on Solana Explorer.

Do most projects lock once or several times?

The data shows more locks than tokens, which indicates projects commonly create multiple locks with staggered unlock dates rather than a single cliff.

Does locking guarantee a project succeeds?

No, and no honest report would claim it does. Locking is a commitment mechanism that removes a specific failure mode. It does not substitute for building anything.
